The Great Arena of Terenshire was full
of people. They knew that this day Drelithila will fight against a huge
orc. Drelithila was popular, but had no real friends. She was to evil
and wicked and always dreamed about power and authority. No one in the
whole country knew who she is and why she is that though warrior, but
they forced her to the Arena anyway. She hated most of the people,
because they have stripped her from her magic. But she has learned much
about the art of combat, and she has learned how to manipulate the
people around her. She learned how to use the pain of the others around
her to fuel her powers, and planned a secret ritual to steal more
power. But she has to survive, and defeat her opponents to do that.

They had a goal again. Yet another female target they had. Their all
male guild was a powerful weapon among the drow they all were trained
in the art of killing or ruining priestesses and other important
females. They knew them well, knew where they are almost defenseless,
and what damage can cause the most problem for them, and their
families. A killed priestess doesn’t bring the disgrace of the Spider
Queen, but a ruined priestess does, and they had the right weapons to
ruin any priestess. But their new mission was unusual for them. They
had to hunt down some adventurers on the surface. They had to prepare
carefully because most of their equipment were sensitive to sunlight.
But they gathered a few new weapons.

Hsu Chao was tired. Even after years of practice the ways of the student were still hard for him. When he was much younger he always wondered how the masters can hit people without seeing them, it looked like a wonder. Yet with every season passed, he learned more from the truth. There is no mystery and no wonder here, it is just acting without thinking. Yet there are real wonders in healing, levitation and in other mysteries learned. But what many young kids see and want to learn isn't a huge mystery, it is something almost everyone can see. Many people want to learn the secrets of blind fighting, and they forget about the real secrets. And ones who try to learn it often think: They would need it when they fight in darkness. They wonder about half elven students, and when they see an elf using similar ways of fighting they try to find similar reasons. Yet most of them forget, that knowing where your opponent and how to fight him is only half of the story. Knowing what is under your feet, and how can you move is just as important, and blind fighting doesn't help there. The reality is far simpler: We learn how to fight without thinking or seeing. It helps when you have to react quickly, it helps if others would distract you, it helps when you can't think about the fight since you have to think about something else.
