Ohhh, but why?
As a happy user of our irc network you would ask: Why do we need a web page? Why do we need a forum? Why should we use these new technologies? While the past discussions and our conclusions are in your logs, when you were here, we should present them to the others too.

Sonja was an assassin, finest of her trade, she knew how to get close enough to her targets. She was a beautifull girl, loved by most men and women, but she were dangerous. Dangerous, and charming, a deadly combination. But she was not so deadly, at least not in all cases. She prefered when she had to capture some fellow women, liked even more when she had to gather information, but she was even more happy, when she had to do both of it. But now, she had a third job as well, teach a lession for her target. A noble girl, who knows much secrets about politics, a rare female swashbuckler, who won many duels, and made many enemies, but still, she is vulnerable enough.

She knew, that she can't hurt her target so badly, but can have a friendly duel with her, and make some painful wounds, and when she has to tend the wounds, there is more to come, much more. But how she can make wounds painfull, and severe enough? How she can make sure, it will be her, who will tend the wounds and they will be alone with her target? She had to plan pretty well. A direct attack would do nothing good. If she just hit that girl, she would turn to a healer. So she has to damage some private and sensitive parts, but that way, Lady Anna wouldn't trust her, so someone else would tend her wounds... Not a good situation, but she was the deadly sonja for a reason.

Like many skilled assassins she can do considerable damage, even without hiting her target. When she first met Lady Anna, she knew, how she can win this battle. They spent a few days with each other, and soon, she earned the trust of her target. In fact, she was close enough to do her job, without the planned combat, but she doesn't like easy victims, and a sleeping woman would be too easy for her. So they started practicing swordplay. And soon, Sonja had the oppurtunity to do what she planned, she grabbed Annas arm, and with a smart move, she managed to throw Anna to a well prepared dinning table.

Anna cired out loudly, as she landed on the dinning table she broke a few dishes, had her fair share of hot soup, and as she landed on them some knives cut her upper body badly, numerous shards of glass and cracked pottery made their way to her sensitive body. But yet, she tought she is lucky, if this happens in a duel she would be in real bad shape, but right now, she has her friend Sonja, a girl who will tend her wounds, and she won't have to show them to healers. The people won't speak about the affairs between her, and a lowly healer, she can keep her good name and image...

A few hours later, she came out from her room, her tears were raining. She had even worse, and more painfull wound now, and she didn't know, if she wanna show her wounds to anyone. She were ashamed, badly hurt, and had no money except a few copper, and a hidden silver coin or two, and Sonja escaped with her secrets. A few hours later, Anna visited a healer. But this time she were realy lucky, Sonja made sure, that there won't be any permanent damage. A few weeks later, the one, who ordered this attack against her, were dead. She learned to avoid the duels with some men, and she managed to trust Sonja again. This time, they became real friends. And a year later she had her first assignment as an assassin. And she was proud, because her master was the best. The deadly, and beautifull Sonja feared by all. Sonja who by that time had a bit too much reputation to work as an assassin. But she was the best possible teacher.

And on another assignment Anna seen someone else landing on that table, but that time, it was just a victim. And by that time, she was the deadly Anna, who mastered how to use the "indirect damage" to her advantage...

Game System: Called shots and several other options allows the player to control how they want to do damage to their taargets. Such modifiers often have their advantages. As a suggested optional rule for d20 system:  With -2 penalty to hit, you can make sure, your attack will do only indirect damage, even in the case of critical hits. With an additional -2 penalty, you can make sure, you won't do any damage, unless you score a critical hit in such situations. If the oppurtunity presents for certain kinds of indirect damage, or you have a chance to prepare the area for such maneuvers you can even control how do you damage your target. This, with some normal called shots, or other such maneuvers can be quite deadly.
